Hong Kong actress and former model primarily known now for a scandalous (by China standards) same sex relationship with a mainland Chinese film producer. On top of that, a video she made of herself dancing in her underwear (for personal use obviously) was leaked and went viral. Now, thanks to those and some rather lewd and mean spirited puclic comments by her producer ex girlfriend, her career is not doing very well. Yet another reminder of just how conservative most of Asia still is compared to most of the West.

That does seem like pity. By American standards, if an actress came out as a lesbian, she would be praised for being brave about it. However, and gay actors and lesbian actress' careers tend to suffer here, too, in America. Sexuality is a very taboo subject around the world. Everyone wants people's sex lives to be as vanilla as their own, otherwise it's sinful.

Her girlfriend has made headlines with puplic statements about things like her supposedly wanting to have "outdoor sex" and wanting to do it "all the time."That would likely keep her from getting any family friendly mainstream roles here in the U.S. but it wouldn't tank her entire career. At the very least she'd have found a role on a Starz or Cinemax series or something especially if she already had a following.
