You have no idea how speachless I am right now.
stunning great work, love your character. I think she is beautiful and the whole enviroment you've placed her in, just works.
Thank you again!
I'm not american, my knowledge of English is poor and my knowledge the american culture is worst, but but I accepted the challenge of creating a story set in a rural U.S.
Nevertheless, this comic was not flying blind: I Knew some references, like the 70's The Waltons, the cartoon and the Hanna-Barbera cartoon The HillBilly Bears (in Brazil called Zé Buscapé) and the comics by All Capp.
Another reference to the Mary Lou clothes was de 80's serie The Dukes of Hazzard.
For me, the important in this comic is create a character with a natural sensuality, not agressive. My Mary Lou is not a teen, but is a young lady, still innocent, discovering your body and beginning to take an interest in boys. And they are also beginning to be interested in it. In the mountain there curiosity, desire, but also respect. A society in old style.
This ilustration I posted here is based in a photo I posted in "Celebrity Tummy Images": the brazilian country singer called Paula Fernandes.
