Deep Blue Sea was a scary film for me as a child. Later I developed a fear of sharks thanks to the coupling of Canada culture shock and Bruce's toothy grin.... yes I mean the Bruce from Finding Nemo haha.

I actually am excited for The Meg. Yeah, it looks like they made it look even cheesier than DBS.... because at the time they weren't trying. Here, they clearly seem like they're going for that 70's Shark Movie feel but the original author of the books should have been collaborating with the director on what he liked or didn't..... it just seems like a cash grab at this point to make Jason Statham the protagonist. That being said, the original Deep Terror novel series of The Meg is great, recommended read if you enjoy "science faction". 8)

I know it's fashionable to s*** all over this movie, but there are things I like about it. #1 being Tom Hardy. He's got a swagger to his walk, he has Eddie Brock's s***-eating grin down, he's speaking with a Staten Island accent (as opposed to being yet another British actor just not speaking with his natural accent). And #2. Venom looks like comic book accurate Venom! And #3. I'm going to use a gift card to watch it anyway, so won't be like I paid for it directly.

All I can see is "Fox Force Five" from "Pulp Fiction". Lupita the African woman whose specificity is demolition, Fan the Asian woman whose specialty is martial arts, Marion the French woman whose specialty is sex, Penelope the Latina whose specialty is knives, and Jessica the redhead who tells bad jokes.
